Expert Answers about Chevrolet RV Leveling Blocks

  • Is It Recommended to Have Leveling Blocks for Each Wheel on a Dual Wheel RV
  • If you are parking your RV for a short period of time, say for just a day or two, you should be okay. Anything longer than that and you will need to have leveling blocks for each tire/wheel. Ultimately you want your RV to be safe and stable when you have it parked. It is definitely more stable to have leveling blocks for each tire/wheel rather than trying to make sure that you get one leveling block just right for both. I have attached our selection of leveling block for you to look...

  • Why Shouldn't FasTen RV Leveling Blocks Be Stacked Higher Than 4-1/2 Inches
  • The FasTen RV Leveling Blocks # CAM44525 should not be stacked to give you more than 4-1/2 inches of lift because it would cause too much instability and be too much of a stressor on the blocks. The shipping weight of these blocks is 17 lbs. I have added a link to a video review for you to check out as well of the FasTen RV Leveling Blocks # CAM44525.

  • Can the FasTen RV Leveling Blocks be Used on a Tandem Axle Trailer
  • You are correct! The FasTen RV Leveling Blocks w/ Carrying Handle # CAM44525 can be placed in any orientation that helps to level your trailer. The only thing you have to make sure of is that you don't go more than 4 blocks high as you aren't supposed to exceed 4-1/2" of total height. Other than that though there really is no issue with making the leveling blocks into a longer configuration for a tandem axle trailer.

  • How Would the SnapPad Base Install Onto Andersen Jack Blocks?
  • The SnapPad Base for RV Plastic Leveling Blocks or Leveling Buckets # SN55FR would just snap onto the bottom portion of your Andersen Jack Block just as you would install SnapPads on your leveling jacks. These SnapPads measure 14" x 14" x 1-1/4" and will fit most 12" leveling buckets like your Andersen Jack Blocks.

  • Operating Instructions For The Stackers Leveling Blocks
  • I believe you're talking about the video I have attached of the Stackers Leveling Blocks w/ Bag for Trailers and RVs - 1-3/8" x 8-1/8" - Qty 10 Item # A10-0920 where they display driving up onto multiple leveling blocks that were attached together. You should always make sure each wheel is making contact with the ground or in this case with a leveling block. Failure to do so could cause uneven stress on one axle and cause damage or even movement of the camper/RV. If you were to make a pyramid...

  • Difference Between Gray and Yellow FasTen RV Leveling Blocks

  • How Much Can the Lippert Ground Control 3.0 Electric 5th Wheel RV Leveling System Raise the Trailer
  • In regards to the Lippert Ground Control 3.0 Electric 5th Wheel RV Leveling System part # LC358590, the front jacks have a 21" travel and the rear jacks have a 12-1/2" travel. If you need more than this then you would need to use leveling blocks like the Stackers Leveling Blocks w/ Bag for Trailers and RVs part # A10-0920.

  • Can FasTen RV Leveling Blocks be Used on Single and Tandem Axle Trailers
  • The FasTen RV Leveling Blocks, part # CAM44512, can be used on both single and tandem axle trailers. There isn't an additional part number needed for a tandem axle trailer. However, we do have part # CAM44525 which is the same thing except they blocks are 17 by 8-1/2 inches instead of just 8-1/2 inches square.

  • Will the FasTen RV Leveling Blocks Work with Dual Wheels
  • The FasTen RV Leveling Blocks, part # CAM44512, work on dual and single wheel applications. Dual wheels means you have two wheels on each side of your axle. So 4 wheels total on one axle. This is commonly known as a "dually" on a truck.

  • How Far can the Jacks Extend that Come with the Lippert Ground Control 3.0 # LC358590
  • The Lippert Ground Control 3.0 # LC358590 is a great system that is pretty much universal and could be installed on your RV, but it will won't be able to extend far enough for your RV to sit level where it is at without utilizing blocks like you are currently doing. The rear jacks have a total travel of 12-1/2" and the front jacks have a total travel of 36". If your trailer was turned around you may be able to find a way to make it work without using too many blocks, but your best bet...

  • What to Put on the Ground at the Bottom of RV Steps
  • The only way the FasTen RV Leveling Blocks, part # CAM44512, interlock is by stacking them. They kind of fit together like Legos do. For something on the ground at the bottom of your RV's steps I recommend using a mat, like part # FR48703. I've linked our complete selection of outdoor RV mats for you.

  • Switching Between 1.5" and 1" Leveling Blocks on Hopkins Electronic LED Smart Level
  • The factory setting for the Hopkins Electronic LED Smart Level # HM08201 is 1.5". To switch it to 1" mode you will start by pressing the on/off button until the yellow lights flash. Then, immediately press the button again to switch to 1" mode. The red LED will light to indicate the leveler is set to 1". This information can be found on the inside of the cover. I have also attached an image below for your reference.

  • Side to Side Level Installation Position on a 35 foot Camper Using the Hopkins Smart Level.
  • The Hopkins Electronic LED Smart Level for RVs and Trailers part # HM08201 was designed to be mounted closer to the front of the camper. At least as close as it takes to still be able to see it. The way it pivots allows you to watch it in your mirror as your pulling onto your leveling blocks. While there will be a little flex since you are still connected to the truck for the majority of the leveling it doesn't effect it to a noticeable degree. I've linked a video on it for you to check out.

  • Are Trailer Scissor Jacks Made for Leveling or Stabilizing a Trailer or Both
  • Scissor jacks on trailers can be used as levelers or stabilizers. They are just not meant to lift up the weight of the trailer so that would limit the amount of leveling they can do. I recommend also using leveling blocks # UF48-979051, or the ones you already have, so that they are doing most of the leveling and the scissor jacks can be used to keep the trailer stable. Scissor jacks aren't meant to support a load off of the ground indefinitely so a secondary leveling device is recommended...

  • How to Lift Front End of Class C Motorhome to Level Out When Parked
  • I would install the Ultra-Fab Ultra Scissor Jack # UF48-979006 right behind your front wheels. This will help to level an RV but please note it is not meant to be used to lift your RV off of the front wheels. Another thing to note is that scissor jacks are meant to be installed on travel trailers and not a motorhome. For your motorhome you'll want to use the FasTen RV Leveling Blocks w/ Carrying Handle # CAM44512 instead. These stack on top of each other and you can add up to 4-1/2" of...

  • Can Ultra-Fab Ultra Scissor Jacks Be Used without Leveling Blocks
  • The # UF48-979002 feature oversized footplates that are 4-1/2" wide by 9" long, so you could use them without leveling blocks. However, it's not uncommon for people to use leveling blocks like # A10-0918 or even wooden blocks under these jacks to provide extra stability (see photos). This is especially helpful in soft surfaces like grass or dirt. What you do want to make sure is that you chock your wheels to prevent your travel trailer from rocking and rolling when parked. For that, I...

  • Using Leveling Blocks Part # UF48-979051 on Each Wheel of Dually Pick Up
  • I spoke with one of our contacts at Ultra-Fab, who recommend using blocks under each wheel. He went on to say that if only one block per side is used, it should be placed under the inner wheel. We have a product demonstration video showing the leveling blocks in use, to view the video click on the provided links.

  • Should Both Tires be Raised When Using Leveling Blocks?
  • When using leveling blocks such as the Ultra-Fab # UF48-979051 you do not have to raise both tires on 1 side. If you are using the blocks on 1 tire on 1 side of your travel trailer and you are level then you can continue to do that without any type of problem.

  • Can Andersen Camper Wheel Chock and Leveler Be Used Upside Down Like a Ramp
  • I suppose you could drive over the Andersen Camper Wheel Chock and Leveler # AM3604 like a ramp but I wouldn't use it that way with a heavy vehicle or with the intentions of it being load-bearing. When these are placed as a leveler the part your wheel is on will be in contact with the ground but if you use it like a ramp then the part where your wheel will be over will be above the ground with no support underneath it. Since these weren't designed to be used like this I wouldn't use it...
